The multi-state research project, “Environmental Impacts of Equine Operations” (NE-1041), finalized their findings for their 2009-2014 research cycle. Led in part by Dr. Mike Westendorf and Dr. Carey Williams, both part of the Equine Science Center at Rutgers University, the group released their Impact Summary explaining what the project aimed to do, how they implemented these recommendations, and how they have engaged horse owners across the country.
The group will also be continuing this work through a new multi-state research project (NE-1441) which will take place from 2015-2020.
For more information about this project, please contact Dr. Michael Westendorf or Dr. Carey Williams.
