2025 Horse Management Seminar: Webinar Series – Archived Webinars

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our virtual 2025 “Horse Management Seminar” webinar series.

All of the webinars have now been uploaded to our Library, and are available for viewing.

The “Farm Management” session brought together Laura Kenny, Dr. Krishona Martinson, Dr. Betsy Greene, and Anita Thompson to present their research on some of the best management practices for small farm pastures, and toxic plants to keep an eye out for.

Laura Kenny from Penn State University spoke on “Small Farm Pasture Management;” and Dr. Krishona Martinson from the University of Minnesota, and Dr. Betsy Greene and Anita Thompson from the University of Arizona spoke on “Plants Toxic to Horses in the North and South US.”

 

The “Nutrition” session brought together Dr. Jennie Ivey and Dr. Erica Macon who covered general equine nutrition, as well as delved into specific nutrition considerations for horses with endocrine disease.


Dr. Jennie Ivey from the University of Tennessee spoke on “Basic Horse Nutrition,” and Dr. Erica Macon from Texas A&M University spoke on “Specific Nutritional Considerations for Equids with Endocrine Disease.”

 

The “Horse Health & Welfare” session brought together Dr. Alisa Herbst and Dr. Kris Hiney to at research on US Senior Horses, as well as how to evaluate pain in horses while riding.

Dr. Alisa Herbst from Rutgers University spoke on “Health & Management of US Senior Horses,” and Dr. Kris Hiney from Oklahoma State University spoke on “Evaluating Pain in your Horse while Riding.”
