I hope y’all got a chance to hang out with us at the horse management seminar! If not, don’t fret because I’ve got another event right around the corner. You’ll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the Rutgers farm animals when you attend the 2025 Junior Animal Science Symposium on March 29th! I love that Rutgers hosts this event every year. It’s so fun seeing how engaged everyone is and how excited y’all are to learn about our animals.

RU ready to help support the Rutgers Equine Science Center? Rutgers Giving Days are right around the corner, taking place on March 12th and 13th. As you might imagine, we will be super busy working to raise money to support the equine education, research, and outreach that we do here at the ESC.

This week, I chatted with some of our graduate alumni from the ESC to see what they’ve been up to after their time at Rutgers. It’s safe to say that they’ve all been doing some pretty cool stuff! You might think that doing research and getting a degree like a Ph.D. or Master’s means that you’ll end up in a lab for your entire career, but these folks here are ready to prove you wrong. There’s so much you can do after becoming an equine science expert!

New Jersey sure is pretty frigid this week! I hope y’all are staying nice and warm like me. Extreme temperatures, whether that be hot or cold, calls for some extra care for your horses. That’s why this week, I wanted to chat with y’all about how your horses stay warm and when they might need some extra help.

I hope everyone enjoyed trying out some of our holiday activities from my last blog! Today, I’d like to showcase our first event of 2025: the Horse Management Seminar. We heard that y’all really enjoyed attending the in-person session as well as the ones online, so we’re keeping it around this year. Check it out:
