Hay everyone!

I hope y’all got a chance to hang out with us at the horse management seminar! If not, don’t fret because I’ve got another event right around the corner. You’ll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the Rutgers farm animals when you attend the 2025 Junior Animal Science Symposium on March 29th! I love that Rutgers hosts this event every year. It’s so fun seeing how engaged everyone is and how excited y’all are to learn about our animals.

Here’s what you need to know:

Date: Saturday March 29, 2025

Time: 8:30am – 3:00pm

Location: Round Barn, George H. Cook Campus (Rutgers University)

Registration: https://tinyurl.com/2025AnimalSymposium

Click on the flyer for more details and be sure to check out the event schedule.

There’s so much scheduled for the day, so I’m sure you’ll find something that you’re interested in. Be sure to stop by the equine sessions and say hi to my friends at the Equine Science Center. Let’s see what they’re got planned:

During the first session, doctoral students Bryce Bitsie and Lexie Birch will be leading a barn safety scavenger hunt. During the second session, Dr. Williams will be chatting about her specialty: equine nutrition. She will discuss the importance of pasture management for the health of your horse and how to evaluate a pasture. The third session will be a classic game of Jeopardy! Test your barn management knowledge with members of the ESC and win some prizes. The fourth and final session will be a discussion with Dr. Malinowski about careers in the equine industry. (All the jobs I had at Rutgers are proof that she knows what she’s talking about!)

Sounds like a full day of fun! I’m sure everyone will do lots of learning and have a blast on the Rutgers farm. Don’t forget to register!

Until next time.

Your friend,

Lord Nelson
