Hay Everyone!
Where has the fall semester gone? I can’t believe our annual Evening of Science and Celebration is here. You’re invited to attend this fun event! Join us on Thursday, November 11th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM for a program packed full of science. You can also help us celebrate the evening’s award winners. The event will be fully virtual and is free to all! You will need to register for the event beforehand. You can do so at https://go.rutgers.edu/Evening2021.
If you’re wondering what the evening’s agenda looks like, I can help you out. I do have inside knowledge! There are some perks to working for the Rutgers Equine Science Center besides a steady supply of doughnuts. The keynote speaker for the evening is Dr. Sarah White-Springer from Texas A&M University. Her research has focused on mitochondria, the powerhouses of cells, and their role in muscle cells. I’m looking forward to finding out what exactly these microscopic organelles do and how they contribute to my ability to be speedy!
Click the flyer for more details about the event and to register.
In addition to the keynote presentation, you’ll have the opportunity to hear the most recent news from the Equine Science Center including updates on recently completed and ongoing research. As always, the evening will feature a presentation from a winning New Jersey 4-H member. We’ll close out the evening with the presentation of the Gold Medal Horse Farm and Spirit of the Horse Awards. This is always one of my favorite parts of the evening! (I always hope that I’ll get a trophy one day.)
I can’t wait to see you Thursday, November 11th! Don’t forget to register at https://go.rutgers.edu/Evening2021.
Until Next Time.
Your Friend,
Lord Nelson
