Memo for July 16, 2009

The Equine Science Center reminds horse owners of the importance of vaccinating against Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) and West Nile virus.. Due to the wet, temperate weather this season, veterinarians are anticipating higher than usual mosquito activity in the area. Be sure to consult your veterinarian about adequate and appropriate vaccination for your horses.

Additional information about EEE can be found in our fact sheet, Questions Regarding Eastern Equine Encephalitis and Horses. For more information about WNV, see our fact sheet West Nile Virus in Horses.
