CELEBRATE ‘EVERYTHING EQUINE’ DURING AG FIELD DAY at RUTGERS DAY Family Fun Activities at the Equine Science Center on Saturday, April 30th

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Join the Rutgers Equine Science Center for a fun-filled day of activities during Ag Field Day at Rutgers Day on Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 – 4:00 pm. The festivities will be held at the Red Barn located on College Farm Road and Sheepfold Lane on the G.H. Cook Campus in New Brunswick.

Guests are invited to experience the thrilling demonstration of a horse galloping at full speed on the 21-foot equine treadmill. This demo is sure to get ones adrenaline-pumping and heart-racing! The Center will have two treadmill demonstrations: 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Two lucky participants will win a gift bag from Rick’s Saddle Shop and the Equine Science Center prior to each demonstration. Space is limited in the equine exercise physiology lab; be sure to arrive early.

In addition, the Center will be celebrating the launch of its new computer game, “Exercising HorsePower”, which is all about the science and excitement of equine exercise physiology. Programs to kick-off the game launch include a temporary tattoo station and a 12-page activity booklet. The Center will also have customizable “Exercising HorsePower” tee-shirts available for purchase.

The Center will also introduce three mares new to the Horse Hero teaching and research herd. Visitors to the Red Barn will get to meet and take pictures of the new “girls” while learning about their former careers as race horses and their new jobs as Horse Heroes. Additional details about the Horse Hero program can be found on the Equine Science Center website at esc.rutgers.edu/HorseHero.
